Sporting button, mid 1800's. Similar to (if not from) a series made by Hammond Turner & Sons of Birmingham, England, depicting various large game animals (bear, elephant, elk, lion, etc.). The backmark is probably something like "EXTRA QUALITY" OR "BEST QUALITY," referring to the gilt brass finish.
