Hey! If your looking through that piece of history there, care to check for the name of Monroe ( Woody)Woodall for me. My Uncle 2nd Marine Div. Lost Battalion. Walked the Bataan Death March.

An excellent find. I don't think you have to worry about that dust jacket. I think that book came without one actually.
Very nice bit of history you found there.

I worked with a guy who was on the Death March in Baatan at Hunter's Point Naval Shipyard back in the early 60's.He had some problems but Congress said he could never be fired or let go.Can't remember his name but was not Monroe.

Great looking book.
Due to the colorful stamping on the front, I don't think this one came with a dusk cover.
Also, it is bound much like encyclopedias were/are, which is more expensive.

I think your right. After a little research, I think only the reprints have dust covers.
I think it may end up on Ebay this week, work's been slow.

Well I listed it on Ebay last night. I'm a subcontractor and jobs are pretty scarce right now around here. I haven't been working too much these last few weeks so i'm looking to make a buck or two off anything I can right now. I think some people want too much for thier stuff. $100.00 is ridiculous for this book. I've checked completed listings and listed it accordingly. No bids yet but I got a few people watching it already. I posted my link on the Ebay page on this forum.

I really hate to sell anything but I got bills to pay and a sick wife so.... every little bit helps.

Well, we all wish we can find beans and turn them into gold.
I am a book hunter/hoarder and I spend every lunch hour M-F looking for books for keeps/ profit/trade.
I have a 40hr/wk job, but that doesn't mean I don't need the help.
People just aren't buying now of days...the economy and political ground is shaky at best.
The market for books is low.
I hope you get a good price for it and I hope your luck turns around!
If eBay doesn't pan out, try Amazon or rare book websites.
Also, Alibris is a good place to try as well.

I inherited this book from my dad. It was sent free to all members of the 2nd marine divison in WWII in december 1948.

Yeah, the guy I got it from said it was his dads book and he got it after the war, so I think he got it the same way. BTW- I sold it on Ebay, it brought 30.00 before fees. Easy come, easy go.
