So I was Mding and older area near my home here in eastern Colorado.....supposedly early 1900's housing for migrant workers.

Ran across these two bottles. Taller one has graduations...smaller one looks like it had a sticker or whatever on the front. Like a shield pattern maybe...idk.

Appears they are both cork or rubber stopper type tops....no threads.

I'll stop now...really no clue about bottles.

Marking on smaller round bottle is a "1" on bottom right.

Marking on larger bottle with graduations = "WTCO"..."B"...."USA"

Hey TheHunterGT,

These are both machine-made bottles, mid to late 1920s or early 30s. WTCo refers to the Whitall Tatum Company of Millville, New Jersey, one of the first glass factories in America, in operation from 1806-1938. The WTCo bottle is a generic medicine bottle and the other is most likely a perfume, and you're right, both would have had paper labels.

On a different note, I am a fan of your avatar. The "dude" is a very comical guy and one of my favorite and so is this gentleman, Mr. Cogburn.

Thank you so much. I appreciate your info and time as I have not had time to sit and dig up any info yet. These two were the first bottle finds I have had so far and the first thing I thought of was the TNET glass section. :occasion14:

He is definitely on my top 5 list of favorite actors. Met the guy like 20 times...so I am biased. :occasion14:

No problem TheHunterGT! I'm new to this site but I'm enjoying the conversation, let's keep it alive! Post your bottles any time.

'Also a Jeff Bridges/Coen Bros fan! In True Grit I love how he talks about the flat grey rock with a fruit jar full of money under it, I just love imagining what fruit jar it could be haha. And also when he drinks from those old blown whiskey flasks. Heck, when I watch any movie set in the past I'm always trying to spot the bottles and stuff, it's sad really, sometimes I miss the story haha!
