Out at garage sales awhile back, I found several things as the center picture shows.
What I need help with are the two brass movements that the fellow said rotated a cooking pot hung in old hearths. There is no name I can find. Both work with a windup key. One is taken apart to show the workings.
Apparently, you hang it on your hearth rods with the large end down. When a pot is hung on the bottom hook, the weight releases the movement, and the pot begins to turn several degrees at a time until it makes a full turn. Then the wind up movement clicks and it slowly begins to turn the kettle back the other way.
What do you call them?
What do you think the worth of each one would be?
