I have been hunting an old abandoned school campus that has been closed since 1940's.This place is said to be hunted out so I began walking through the woods on all metal checking every deep target and if I get any kind of repeating signal I would dig it. So far I've gotten about 25 wheats, two barbers, 12 mercs.,one gold cross, one solid gold pocketwatch, one 42 quarter and tons of different relics. This place is pretty deep in the woods now and my finds were getting few and far between. Did some more research and found out that the campus was 53 acres an I've been hunting about 6. I walked down the hill to the big gully where the swimming pool (rock lined pond) is and walked up the other side. Bam, there it was on the top of the next hill, two chimneys and a big cellar hole. The yard looked perfect for detecting (open, not all grown up) So I turned on my machine and this place is so trashy it drove me crazy and I didn't find anything but trash, all just under the surface. I know that there is some good stuff out there, jus getting to it is the problem. I figured that I'll grid it off and start removing surface trash and then I might find something good that was being masked. Hope it works. Oh Yea the name of the place was Lincoln Academy, It was a school for under prevlidged black children. Its my honey hole.

The perfect "SPOT" for me would be a dog that could sniff out gold and silver coins. I wonder if a dogs nose is sensitive enough to do that and filter out trash? Maybe I'd name the dog MD.
