Hi, Everyone. I found this peculiar formed wire object about 3 inches down in hard pan soil in the same area I was digging CW bullets in the 4"-7" range.
The wire is magnetic and appears to have been plated with gold or ? It cleaned up pretty easy but still has tarnish. The wire has been tempered to be as a stiff spring.
The wire diameter is .073" and the length of the object is 1.5".
There are also some 20-50 year old dump pits nearby, so it might just be something modern.
Thanks in advance for any help!
