Me and my wife were out metal detecting in Kodak, TN, by I-40 Interstate. Picked up on metal, cans and keys. Then we came across a pile of dirt and could not figure out why it was beeping. Then we found the rock was setting it off. It is dark slate blue with a couple light amber streaks. has a vertical grain. Almost a luster to it? Very interesting rock, very pretty. Also, VERY light in weight. Crazy colors. Meteorite? Chunk of rock from space maybe? Looks like an alien rock to me lol. Would be really cool. Please if anyone can take a look and let me know. Thanks!

Might be slag. Any rock with mineral in it should feel heavier for it's size.

Is it magnetic? Most meteorites will have some magnetic pull and be significantly heavier that a rock of similar size. Good luck finding out more! ; )
