I went out for a short hunt this morning, and found the usual pennies, clad, ect. Then I got a deep signal and dug this up at about 9 inches? Have any of you got a idea of what it is? IMG_6212.JPGIMG_6213.JPG

Interesting item..is it all brass? Looks like it's designed to be mounted
on a ship, or a wall maybe?

My guess is that it's either a propeller or a fan blade of some type.

I thought it might be part of an antique rope braider, but can't find anything similar. Pretty cool find!:icon_thumleft:

Some think it's a fan from a antique wood burning stove? They say the heat rising made it turn and circulate the heat? it's not that big? I Dunno?

It could be the blades used to be upright and it was a candle holder, maybe someone bent them down.It looks like two of the blades have cracks from being bent straight.

The more I look at that mount, the more I keep thinking how
it looks an awful lot like a "side view mirror" mount on a car.

Wonder if they used it somehow to blow air inside the car?

Cool find! :icon_thumleft:
