Found some lion statues on a plaque

Can't translate the lettering online for the life of me. No one in family can figure out WHERE it came from, but maybe a storage locker? Or left by a relative at some point recently. Probably junk, not in great shape, but I can't tell what its made of.

Japanese(?) Foo Dogs. House and temple guardians.

We have a pair of the Chinese Foo Dogs guarding our house. They seem to be doing their job. They are in more of a "Sit" position.
