I haven't posted for about a month or so because all I've been finding lately is clad and crap, nothing good at all!!! It's been a frustrating month, but I did some serious research and found a place in the mountains where there used to be a bandit hideout in the late 1800's. I found the owners of the property and am going to send them a letter asking for permission to hunt around.
Also, while detecting around one of the local reservoirs (with a beach area), a lifeguard came up and said someone had lost a platinum ring and could I help find it? The area where the person lost it was in 10 foot deep water, so I said I couldn't but after doing some research I discovered that the reservoir is drained every few years for maintenence and the next draining is a little over a year from now. The lifeguard didn't get the people's info who lost the ring, so he doesn't know whose it is, and if the people who lost it don't leave a note or something with the lost and found, a year from now it might be fair game! Of course, if I know who lost the ring and I find it, then I'll return it, but if not, it could be a nice find!
