Hey everyone, my brother and I got out for a few hours today and were able to pull up some goods. We tried a new field at a campsite we are working and the only old thing to come out of it was this Vauxhall Victor Estate Car toy. We then decided to go back and cover some ground we had already hit before to see what we had missed. We ended up pulling 3 wheats (1918-s, 1945, and unreadable), a tax token, and a button. This brings our wheat total to 41 on the year, with still no silver coins >:(, oh well we will snag some eventually. The button is puzzling because it rang up in the nickel range, and looks like gold, and came out of the ground nearly untarnished. It is fairly heavy for its size, the front reads Columbia, and the back says Waterbury Co's Conn. I've got my fingers crossed that its gold, but I can't find info on it so help me if you can please! Anyways we had a good day and happy hunting!

Great finds.

The gold plating made the brass button read like gold which over laps with nickles on the VDI. You have a number scale and probable target I.D. scale on the underside of your DFX. Read it, learn it, love it! Hold it to your chest like a fuzzy teddy bear on a Christmas morning. Also please understand the the detector is believed by some to detect the outside surface of the target. Called the "scale effect". This is why IHP's read lower on the VDI than memorial pennies. I recomend the pamplet "Going Places With the DFX". You can get a copy at your Whites dealer.

Keep up the great finds!
