My little girl really wanted to go detecting with me tonight, we walked the wagon trail remnants that crisscross
the golf course behind our house. Finds were sparse! I made the Deus as small as it would go, and she gave it a try. She did so good, listening for high tones, finally she said "I think this one sounds good daddy". Sure enough it was the little button, it's not old but was a few inches deep. She was very proud of herself, especially since I had only dug trash haha. I thought she was going to skunk me, but then right in the old wagon track I got a 69-70 and out popped the little cuff link from 6 inches. The hinge and back aren't gold, but the gold part is a solid piece wrapped around the mount. Using the loupe I found that this part is not plated. It's probably 100-110 years old.
