I have to admit I'm pretty proud of my skills, that I can be zipping around on a zero turn mower and out of the corner of my eye I see a part of this quartz beauty popping up from the ground. Makes cutting grass a little more enjoyable when you can treasure hunt at the same time. Even more enjoyable when you find one! Found in NW Georgia

Yes and good eye! Congrats. I'm sure you're always on the lookout for them. I once found a nice quartz arrow point in a ditch while driving my '66 pickup slowly on Gold Mine Road--along the edge of the Tallapoosa river on the Elmore/Tallapoosa county line.

Nice spot. I’ve got a part of my yard I mow a bit more thoroughly because I’ve found a pair of points before, trouble is after I find one I start seeing them all over for a while and I end up hopping off the mower to investigate regular rocks and leaves … really tacks on the time.

Good eye.

There is a small bare spot in a corner of my parents’ front yard. Nothing has ever grown there. Years ago when cutting grass with the tractor I hopped down to find a nice whole point sitting right on top of the dirt. Every so often I wander over there but have yet to find more.
