found pottery/NON-DUG...need some help!!!

Hello everybody!!!...I got this old style peice of pottery that i would like to know if its old or new&if made in mexico,italy,etc.it looks good&looks old for the most part! but not sure.i have looked in my pottery books(4 on marks,7-8 on various potteries)and came up w/NOTHING! close but not exact so i'm counting on the TN community!!! thanks all&HH!!! :thumbsup: :icon_study:

Some kind of promotional container similar to Avon, etc. Could have contained anything from hand lotion to liquor? Monty

Looks like a signature? maybe on the bottom. Could it be one of them "glaze your own pottery" pieces. I know my grandmother had several pieces in her house that she had bought raw, glazed them, and then had them fired again. Just a guess.

I can find google hits for "Mónus J. HMV", but none in English. So I take this to mean it is from a lesser known foreign company (or artist).

I think a paint marker was used to write the name... Mónus J. HMV, so I don't think it's an antique.

Well its obviously book shaped - whiskey or vodka I'd say - Bird appears to be Eastern European I'm guessing from the Baltic, Ukraine or Russia.

I also thought it was of baltic/european(Italy)based on signature...but i also beleive it contained NOTHING,Just a decrotive peice takking from american(bennington,etc.)book bottle design,PA. folk art,etc. thanks for input!!! :thumbsup:
