So I decided to use some of my found clad and some rolls of memorials I have, to buy some coins. I found an auction on ebay and though I think I made a decent buy, I want you coin experts with better knowledge to reconfirm that. The coin lot included:

1921 Morgan Dollar
1942-s Walker
1957-d Washington Quarter
1943-p War Nickel
1905 Barber Dime
1913 Barber Dime
1943 Merc
1945 Merc
1957 Roosevelt (picture appears nearly AU)

Here is the link to the auction is you have any questions on condition. Oh, and I paid $28.00 including shipping. So was it a good purchase? Thanks for your help!

Seems like you got a good deal. Usually a Morgan Dollar in most conditions for under $10 or $11 is a good deal. The Official Red Book is what you want. You can get one at a book store or most coin dealers. The Red Book list your Morgan at VF-20 (Very Fine 20)(Low Grade lots of wear on breast feather and wing tips of Eagle) for $16.00 to MS-65 (Mint State 65) (Near Perfect small marks no wear and mint luster in full) $180.00 Usually what you pay for on e-bay is what you will get. I don't think you got ripped off nor got a great deal. You paid around whats everything is worth I'd say. GJ(Good Job) But you should always have an up to date Red Book on you and check prices before you buy.

Keep @ it and HH!!

I did check the PCGS guide online, assumed everything was at G-4, and I figured it was a good deal. I will pay for this with clad and leftovers from a box of pennies that my gf bought for me, so they are essentially free. ;)

Thanks for the feedback.

I think its a win, win situation. You are cashing in clad that remains at a set value. For silver which the value fluctuates, but is on the rise. How could you lose?.So I think you "made" it a great deal. Keep it up.I bought alot of BU condition silver coins in 1996 or 97 when silver was at around $3.50 an ounce. Its at $13and some change now.You certainly didnt get hurt by ,just hang on to it for a long time.Thats my 2 cents.HH

Actually, silver tends to hold it's value and our fiat dollar looses value through inflation as the government prints more and more money. Example: In 1920 a $20 gold piece would buy a side of beef, a quality rifle, or a nice suit. Today that same $20 gold piece would buy a side of beef, a quality rifle, or a nice suit, but a $20 bill doesn't go far at a butcher shop.

I think you did pretty good, the melt value of the coins is around $23, but the morgans and the half dollars tend to trade at a premium.
