6th (West Essex) Regiment of Foot Soldiers' documents
Formed in 1755 as the 58th, designated as 56th Regiment in 175 and became the West Essex Regiment in 1782.. In 1840 the regiment was in Quebec and employed on the frontier during the Maine Boundary dispute. It returned home in 1842.

Just a guess!

It looks like a really F**KED up coin to me!!! I can make out a rim edge on parts of it and some slots on the edge face like the older silver coins!!!! I'll bet that puppy started out life as a seated coin and then melted in a fire!!!!! what does your detector say it is??? I say its silver!!!
