The top piece looks like it could be some type of buckle plate. :) Breezie

I don't think those two pieces are from the same thing. I agree that one piece has a clasp, and my thoughts on it are shown below.
What does the other side of these two items look like? What type of metal are we looking at? Looks like tin in the photographs.

The bigger piece actually has a little clasp almost like a modern day pen has a metal clip. They are very thin but not flimsy so I dunno if its tin or what. The object on left was found at the same depth and in the same general area of some melted camp lead I found as well. So I don't know if these were some sort of buckles that were tossed in a fire or what.
