I thought it might be a lamp shade holder but the screw hole is to small. Also wonder if it might be some kind of wind up key. What do you think?

I think what you have is a finial off a lamp.

It's a finial, probably from a lamp. But finials can be on many things: bed posts, lamps, etc.

Yes it looks like one I just thought it was kinda ugly to b that. But I think I'll go with it.

Fixed. It would make a good clock wind up key but I've never seen one before
