I'm wondering if it was supposed to have a lid. I like it but I'm probably going to try to sell it. Any help is appreciated. I haven't been able to find a MF & Co mark that matches this one... Thanks in advance for any help.

Just a guess on my part but mf & co might be the retailer. I would research the incised crown trademark (keeping in mind the circles on each side of the crown). The use of and design of cobalt blue suggests Asian influence or copy. Something makes me think that it could be Japanese or English pottery. Or I can be totally wrong.
MF and co could be Marshall Field & Co. Founded 1865.

Trademark is spelled Trade marke on the vase?????????????????????? Strange:dontknow: How do the English spell it?

I'm thinking it did have a lid once? Looks like a European rendition of an Asia ginger jar? Looks old like maybe early 20th century??

Thank you Captain! I believe it is a Minton mark. I think it says "TRADE MARK F" not "MARKE". It definitely has age to it and besides missing the lid its in good condition.

Glad to help! The clue for me is the crown. Anything with a crown is usually English. Not always, but usually and it's a good place to start for research purposes. It's a cool piece!
