Hope everyone had a good weekend. Well i was driving home on Sat and saw a yard sell sign and decided to stop by. Looked pretty picked over. But did find this book and got it for 50 cents. The thing is I am trying to find out if this is a first edition for this. I have found tons of the 1919 versions and the 1914 reprint versions. I believe this was the first year of publication for this publication. I know the original piece was made in the late 1800's as a essay fin another book. But it is a great find non less. Hoping someone can shed some light on this particular one.

I see 1914, no idea if a reprint. Usually 100+ year old books aren't in that condition though.

What is on the back of the title page?

I used to think the same until I ran across a 1903 edition of "The Growing Christian". Must have been put on a shelf and that is where it stayed till I found it. Only some light foxing and the top and bottom of the spine bent a little. cover-00225-2.webpcopyright-00235.webp

Hi thanks for the info. that book you are talking about is Maurice Maeterlinck: A Biographical Study: which has 2 essays. Trying to find this particular version where it only has The Massacre Of The Innocents. I do appreciate the help help. And is getting me closer to the answer.
