Ok so today had some extra time and went detector g with my new Garrett at gold. I was here in Alabama south of Heflin in the middle of the woods on a small road. Was looking for creeks to nugget hunt in and went down a road that was only 2 small trails beary a road. I found d a handful of pennies. They were showing as 75 Id. For approx. 100 yards I kept finding them . Finally I quit digging 75s. The crazy thing is that every one is 1985 d. There was at least 30 or 40 more hits and I just quit. What do you guys think. How could these get there in the middle of nowhere? I'm going back to see what else is there. Some were 6" deep some top of ground but all in rough condition.

Welcome to tnet Im not sure how long you have detected. One of the biggest unknowns for me is how did it get there . Ive found a WWI hat pin in the woods in MI I could go on and on and on. I find spots where there are lots of clad coins and pennies, Thats a good start keep looking you never know . Glad you had fun and keep posting!!! Tommy

the dreaded "75"----- I tell ya'---- if I had a penny for every 75------- NEVER MIND:laughing7:

tis strange indeed....:icon_scratch:

You are on the trail of Abraham Zincoln.

Somebody lost a roll of new pennies right from the bank.............. or stolen from some coin collectors house? I doubt we will ever know!

Iowa Dale

Somebody was dragged off by space aliens and left a trail. Or maybe it was a bear...

Sounds like a bicycle rider losing something from their pocket each time they pedaled. Gotta get the pennies out of the way in case something better is hiding in there!

I would say it was a roll of pennies that broke open somehow. Just dont know why the person had the roll way out there. Kids carry lots of funny things.

Thanks guys. Going g back asap to go up hill and see what I find. Wouldn't have thought much if all hadn't been same mint and on both sides of road and up on banks 3' up on both sides. Who knows. Probably bank robbery. Had to be new rolls.
