Congrats on your 2nd double die Jeffro.

Don't give up yet...they are still out there. I like the rolls sitting in the vault.....they seem to yield more in my area....plus every once in a while you latch onto those full rolls of silver which is so fun & exciting.

Good luck.

Way to go Jeffro! I like looking for (and finding) errors, as I find it breaks the monotony of going through a skunk box! I found my first 74 ddo a couple of weeks ago and it looks about like yours. I'm not looking to sell any of my error coins, but I imagine you could get somewhere around $30 for that thing. It gets really hard to find error halves from the seventies that are still in good shape. Congrats again, and good luck on finding more.

I don't know how you have the patience and eyeballs to spot those errors. Congratulations.

Its really not that hard and doesn't take too much time, either. I searched through the Cherrypickers guide and picked out a few dates to look for. Then when I'm going through the coins, I sort out those dates and stack them. After I'm all done looking for silver, I go back through the coins I set aside, usually about 50 coins or so. Takes about 10 minutes to look for the errors.
Helps alot if you have the Cherrypickers guide to know what to look for. :)

Jeez, I don't know why I don't have that book yet. I think I'll pick up a copy.

Just so you and others know- there's two volumes. Volume 1 goes from half cents to nickels. Volume two goes from half dimes to dollars. There's some pretty neat stuff in these books, including info on different classes of double dies, which are which aren't, the manufacturing process, a tutorial, etc. Comes in pretty handy!

Congrads Jeffro on the find, I still have trouble seeing the difference though. You must have better eyes as when I hunt, they all look the same:)
Pepperpump ;D
