Why sort of? Looks like gold to me! Bought a 1/10th oz with a 14k bezel and thin 14k chain at an estate auction several months back. How much did it run you?
Do it! I had the biggest coin find of my life at a yard sale. Although I spent $3200 to get it. I ask about every single one unless there is some guy out there who looks all ticked off and I don't bother. Then a lot of them say they have them but they don't know what they're worth and I tell them if you want I can tell you what they're worth just so you have an idea I won't even offer to buy them unless you're willing to sell them. Boom!! come on in!
It's difficult to tell from your photos- us that a moderm US minted gold eagle? Full 1toz? Or a fractional? If real it's a steal at any size. But there are lots of gold plated "replica" coins out there, too so check both size and weight.
"My precious"... Ha-Ha-Ha! That's a good one. I tell you what, if I had found a real U.S. gold coin for twenty dollars, it would be "My precious" too.
Great going.
Phil
Sorry I look at the photo of the back and see that it is very blurry. It is a pendant. It's marked 1/10 oz pure gold. It is a little smaller than a quarter
That is a THICK necklace, lots of gold value in it as well. Cant believe you got it at that price. I recently bought the same 1/10th oz gold eagle in a 14k bezel on a thin 14k chain, paid $120 for it and was very happy at that price. You did EXCELLENT!
