Metal Detecting
Hit a couple playgrounds yesterday. Living in a small town, our options are a bit limited on detecting. Most places are either private property or just simply off limits to detecting. But playgrounds are always open. First spot ended up finding 5 pennies (all memorials), 1 surface dime and a few scraps of trash. 2nd spot was an elementary school yard. Found 9 pennies (again, all memorials or shields) 2 more dimes, 2 nickels (all modern clad) a brass or maybe copper junk ring, a couple zipper pulls... And my first ever silver! Small cross with stones (doubt they're diamonds but I'll have it tested just in case) and a small plated tag attached to it. 2" down in the mulch, I flipped it and saw the small .925 on the back and was just ecstatic. I know some of you wouldn't get too excited for something this small and non valuable, but seeing as how 99.9% of my finds are clad coins, this was pretty awesome for me.

Any time a see silver in the hole, it makes me want to do round offs into back handsprings! Hmmm..i wonder if i can still do those?

Congrats on scoring your first silver. That's a nice find.

My first silver was a coin, it was a lovely spring day in 2014, I remember it clearly, that was the beginning of my downward spiral in madness! This hobby can become quite the obsession.

Good luck brother!

everyone starts somewhere, and as Tom stated, once you get a taste of silver or gold, it can get very addicting

Just for kicks did a quick Google Search on Sequim - Holy Smokes!
HISTORY | Sequim Irrigation Festival

You gotta find this farm! There's gotta be coins everywhere. Also find a map of the old railways and hit the depot locations.

Nice finds and congratulations on the first silver! :occasion14:
