Hit a couple playgrounds yesterday. Living in a small town, our options are a bit limited on detecting. Most places are either private property or just simply off limits to detecting. But playgrounds are always open. First spot ended up finding 5 pennies (all memorials), 1 surface dime and a few scraps of trash. 2nd spot was an elementary school yard. Found 9 pennies (again, all memorials or shields) 2 more dimes, 2 nickels (all modern clad) a brass or maybe copper junk ring, a couple zipper pulls... And my first ever silver! Small cross with stones (doubt they're diamonds but I'll have it tested just in case) and a small plated tag attached to it. 2" down in the mulch, I flipped it and saw the small .925 on the back and was just ecstatic. I know some of you wouldn't get too excited for something this small and non valuable, but seeing as how 99.9% of my finds are clad coins, this was pretty awesome for me.
