Hi all.

Found this today at a skirmish site that has been hit hard over the years by others.

Weight is approximately 8.9 pounds. Diameter is roughly 4.75 inches.

Other than a canister shot, this is my first artillery of any kind.

Thanks for looking.

very cool find. Hope you can have it made inert

I was expecting along the lines of a 3 ringer. Awesome find.

I’m no expert but I’ve watched a lot of videos of aquachigger digging artillery and cannon balls...lol...is that a confederate case shot?

Heck Yeah!!! After you get that made inert and cleaned up consider getting that puppy cut in half. They make excellent display pieces. Congrats!! :occasion14:

Great find, congrats! :occasion14:

Congrats, those "hit hard" sites always have a little something left...

I'm no expert at all, but have been told it's a "12lb" shell with a Confederate fuse. It has black powder and smaller projectiles inside.

No guessing if that's a cannonball or not!

Nice find.

Very cool, I'm still looking for my first complete shell. Congratulations!
