I got my MXT just last week, and went out during the week and found myself pennies - just pennies. After 30 pennies I was starting to think that maybe there was something wrong with my machine and that it only found pennies! (just kidding)
This week I also purchased a Garrett Pro Pointer to help in nailing down my targets and MAN does it help! On Saturday I had a couple of hours to go out to the park, and I was lucky enough to score my first clad.
This is my first time metal detecting and I was happy to get the clad monkey off my back.
My next goal would be silver...
And today (Sunday) I found it! I scored a 1964 Canadian dime, and also found some other clad. And the dime is in good shape! I found it in a hole along with a penny. I found the penny first, then rechecked the hole and got the dime. At first I thought it was a newer dime, then the light coming through the trees lit it up and I thought, "holy moly, this one has got to be silver..." as I rubbed it a little with my thumb. The first side I glimpsed after cleaning it was the obverse, and I saw the young Queen Elizabeth and I was SUPER happy!
I checked the hole thoroughly but the dime and penny were the only things there.
The first photo is yesterday's finds, 2 x toonies, 1 x looney, 3 x quarters, dimes and pennies and 1 nickel.
The second photo is today's hunt, a quarter, 7 pennies and the silver 1964 dime.
Next goal is gold...
