white's M6
I went out hunting on Monday for my birthday. I was hunting an area of the field I have been over several times. I got VDI on my M6 that was dime but is also the range I find most of my three ringers in. I was pleasantly surprised when I found a coin in my plug. It was my oldest coin to date and I finally broke into the 1800's. I had a 1892 Barber dime New Orleans mint. I went on to find a rivet that has a unique pattern on the end of it. I also found a three ringer that had hit something hard. I found this 2 ringer with flat base. Any idea what kind it is? I also found this iron spike thingy that I don't have any idea on either. It was a great birthday. I did the dance and said a quick thank you prayer.

I really like my m-6 coin magnet.I use mine in all metal mode, lots of junk but some nice finds.Keep on diggin brother

your bullet on the left appears to be a dropped Burnside (Union cavalry). The bullet on the right appears to be a fired Gardner (Confederate). From those two bits of information, I'd surmise you're in Union lines of at least a small skirmish. Do some research and see if you can find a little bit more about what went on in the area.
