I spent the week end on a private ranch looking for what ever, I was on top of a mesa south west of Las Vegas , New Mexico near the village of Bernal. I was within site of Starvation Peak where legend has it the Comanches ran a group of travelers from the Santa Fe trail up to the top and kept them up there till everybody starved. I was told by my nephew when he was growing up on the ranch they would find arrow heads. He also told the only thing I would find on the mesa was a good view, as survey of sorts was done before putting up the cell phone towers and no artifacts were ever found, I'm sure they didn't search the whole 200 acres. The trip wasn't a total bust, the views were wonderful and I also got reminded to pay close attention to where you step.
