So, since moving to the CSRA from Germany in Aug 2012, we've found $127.48 USD layin' around in America, no metal detector or other tool used (Jewelry, Silver coins and other Ace 250 finds are not included in this)

a twenty
a ten
three ones and a dollar coin
$43.50 in quarters
$31. in dimes
$5.90 in nickels
$13.08 in pennies

In addition, we've also found an AAFES .25 cent POG, .51 Euro cents, 1000 Korean Won bill, two Canadian dimes and a Chucky Cheese token. All of it found simply by looking at the ground.

Americans really are to lazy to pick up pocket change, and it baffles me to this day. A penny saved is a penny earned...

Hello Airborne1092,

It pays to be aware of your surroundings. I have a 6 quart “Tupperware” container filled with clad coins found (5 years) without my metal detectors, perhaps one day I will go through it.

Regards,

Yeah, and when we aren't being lazy, we do often lose money the old fashioned way.

The first night in Augusta, GA we were staying at a Super8 and we found an ashtray dumped in the parking lot with about .60 in the pile. A penny is a penny and it's sad that folks would take the time to remove their ashtray to dump it, but not to pull it out of their pocket to spend it. I always get stares and signs in the store when I use change to pay exactly, or to round up so I DON'T get change back. SMH
My Grandma always says "money spends."

Good on you! I always look at the ground when it is safe. I was in New York City last week and picked up a mangled gold bangle that I had to pry out from between the cobble stones on greene street in SoHo outside of Louis Vitton I passed by a scrapper on the way to Rock Center and sold it for 171.12 Covered my Taxi ride back to JFK and a couple of Street Dogs!

good eye I cind alot of bills by fences near stores
