Hi everyone this is my first post so any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Someone I know was moving and I found this lunchbox in their basement. They said I could have it and I thought there might be something to it.

Unfortunately I know nothing about it! Not a clue on age, value, rarity or anything.

- On the side it reads "THERMOS TRADEMARK REG'D"
- All black exterior/All white inside
- Brown leather handle

Sorry for the bad pic and thanks alot for looking, any info would be great thanks!

Sorry JerLinde and I could be wrong,
but I just don't think there is much to that lunch box unless there happens to be a big ole honkin' turkey sandwich in there.

Thanks alot for the quick responses!

My box is almost identical to the one in the first link, The only difference is the handle and condition.

Didn'tt really think it would be worth alot of money, and not really thinking about selling it, But I am curious. The one in the first link is selling for $7.00 and the other for $28.00. Where does that leave mine? Being in better shape and assuming a different model. (Because of the different handle?)

Thanks again everyone, all this info is great!

I was thinking late 1950's. All you need is William Bendix on the end of the handle, and we could do a series of the Life of Riley. Mmm, better hush, sounds like I might be telling my age. Breezie

Realize that the asking price doesnt mean anything. You need to look at the price it actually sells for, if it sells.. I think Archie Bunker had one. Edith put a Twinkie in one everyday. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...7GGLL_en&tbs=isch:1&ei=iXJ4Tai5OoigtweK3IWoBg I had one and I didnt realize workers no longer use them lol. I must be getting old. What do they use now for lunch? ...paper bags?

True. It's worth whatever the buyer will pay ... even if it's overpriced.

It looks as the handle was replaced by a piece of heavy gauge wire. A common practice as the handles wore and broke fairly easy. My father carried one like that many years in the mining industry.

It was a very popular model and came with a thermos that would hold a couple cups of soup or coffee, etc. You could see any number of them in the break room where blue collar workers ate lunch back in the 1950s and '60s. Monty

That is the kind of lunch box most people used until the 70s, then most changed to the small plastic coolers.
They also made plastic lunch boxes similar to that metal one.
