It is an old bird band. The hole in the coin norm means that it was worn maybe someones b day or lucky coin

Actually, your coin is not a 2Reales, but a 1 Real. It has a hole because coins were carried in money belts made of leather or on a small metal wire to keep them safe and in one place. Yours was obviously holed to keep it on a wire. Many early coins are holed in this manner. I take it this is your first Spanish Silver coin?Cheers,Buck

Thanks BB. I have a few somewhere but I keep forgeting the sizes.

Years ago I actualy used one to make an emergency phone call in a payphone because I couldnt get change and it was all I had in my pocket. I made my call... calls were a quarter.
