It's either a vietnamese booby trap or more likely an old rake. if there is a place for a handle to attach, it was used to rake stuff like hay. But, I could easily be wrong.

Thank you for replying, The item is flat all the way across on one side and from the picture it looks like it mounted onto something on both the left and right side, but no place for a handle to attach to as far as I could see. I should be back in the woods tomorrow or Monday, I will get better photos.

Crude thatcher? Or an old crude cheap piece like the hook like things they use to drag behind tractors that made straight lines & thus rows in the field. Each point dug a mini trench down the whole row & those trenches are where the corn or beans would be planted. or ?

Probably a hay rake, attached to wood and pulled by a horse or team.

Thanks for the reply! That is kind of what I thought it was, some kind of farming tool, I was just surprised my husband didn't recognize it. If you want to see something funny type in crude thatcher in your search bar and go to images, it made me LOL. Thanks again for the reply.

This is a crude implement; looks like it was made of angle iron and the teeth were welded on? It's hard to see for sure.

The 'notches' in it were bolt holes that pulled or ripped out. It's interesting that the holes are oblong, arguing for being manufactured versus home made, which would be drilled round.

It's short, which is a puzzle, unless there were more of these in the implement.

If you really want to know what is .. it is the "sh-t kicker" teeth off of an OLD manure spreader as shown below:
