Hi ,

Its been a very long time since ive been on this site , this might be a crazy question but i live on a hill in Kentucky and sometimes there is water that will swamp under the ground and in the driveway , although it might be a spring someone said.. there is larger rocks around the home as well that maybe just rubble .. but could anyone tell me what this Little Rock is .. or mineral or what ...

Thank you .. ill try to attach a picture to the comment CF2A0354-9A09-47A0-B1FD-F523FD9B3256.webp1C74B108-00C8-4E19-A869-8725B1453682.webpCF2A0354-9A09-47A0-B1FD-F523FD9B3256.webp1C74B108-00C8-4E19-A869-8725B1453682.webpCF2A0354-9A09-47A0-B1FD-F523FD9B3256.webp1C74B108-00C8-4E19-A869-8725B1453682.webp

It's quartz - silicone dioxide, the most common mineral on earth. It also has inclusion of another mineral, probably an ore of iron.

Quartz is often found with all kinds of other minerals, including gold.

Generally speaking, the predominance of mineralogy of the area is sedimentary, sediments laid down by ancient seas. There are shale and coal deposits. The quartz you have was most likely brought in as a liquid (hot) solution through the sediments. As you can, look for any odd colors, structures or variations in it. When quartz gets brought up from the depths in this manner, a lot of times metal minerals come up with it.
