I have never seen any WWII relics like these. I dug nearly 20 from the same hole Saturday. Only 5 in. deep as were the 30-06 blank cartridges for the c1903-A3 Springfield rifles used by U.S. army troops dated "42" for 1942 we found in the same area. The relics are 40mm dia. (1.5 in.) and have a "fin' stamped "AS". Opposite the fin is the base that may have the primer. The case looks like aluminum. This is a puzzler. Thanks for any info. May be a small mortar round or flare
