20170508_193122.jpg20170508_193135.jpg20170514_130536.jpgFound a few things last couple days. Wondering about the badge thing. Top has a hollow cylinder. Vertical lines. A small rectangle that appears to have the initials "PEH" or "PETT" (not sure). Sorry about pictures, all I have right now is my work tablet. Thanks for looking. LAIRMO

20170514_184728.jpgI see the resemblance. ... But nothing that new in this area except for maybe the thimble. And would have to be smurf smokes...lol

If we could see the lettering style could determine the century
It is actually just scratched /etched by hand. May have to buy that camera I've been wanting. (It actually looks like what I drew in the one photo)

Papa smurf smoked like a fiend, they just didn't portray him that way in the figurines and cartoon.
Seriously though, I do believe it is something from not much earlier than the 20's, of deco design and monogram. I hadn't noticed the thimble to estimate the size by. But other smaller personal effects had these same characteristics, pretty distinct to the era.
Aluminum advertising thimbles were popular in the same period.

I remember something similar posted here in the very early days of Treasurenet. The item was claimed to be Civil War buckle and even made it into a magazine. There was doubt however to it actually being a Civil War artifact. It had an eagle on it but I seem to remember it was similar in shape and had the same hinge. I searched Google and cant find it. The search here at TN doesnt work for me and its very unuser friendly so no help there

I've found many union (Waterbury) buttons cuff/collar/jacket, half of a US buckle etc all in this same 45 sq ft. Radius in the woods here. I know that really doesn't prove my point but just pretty much thinking post CW Era. Also large cents from 1835 to 1858 and IHC from same time period....?idk

Cigarette or match box lid. Have one in my collection of mysterious finds somewhere.
