Does anyone know what these are? The first seems to be made of lead. It is shaped like a guitar tuner key, and has a v notch in the circle portion. It is shiny and almost gilded in the sun light. It was found in a civil war trash pit where I have found tons of other items. The second I’ve seen in relic displays but I have no idea what it is!

agree with Spats...maybe the first one is camp lead. Spilled lead often took many a weird shapes as it cooled on the ground.

I have dung tons of camp lead but nothing like this. The picture doesn’t do the shape justice. This was formed into this shape unlike other camp lead I’ve found. I think I’ve found what it might be. “A civil war finial of some sort.”

Possibly the top of a field drum snare adjuster.

Although they were typically made of brass. The drum pictured is a reproduction.
