Do not believe it to be civil war related, but post civil war. Found it at a civil war camp some 70-75 miles away from where the town on the token says. It’s the size, and thickness as a large cent, made of what sounds like bronze or brass. Says Fort Smith, Arkansas along the top the Fort part is very faint. I took it to my jewelry/coin guy who collects everything Fort Smith related, and he’s never seen one. Anyone have any guesses? It’s not high on my list as right now I’m still digging into the graduation medal I found this weekend. IMG_5290.webpIMG_5289.webp

Not sure. This was found in an unincorporated area about 2 miles from town in the woods, and Fort Smith at the time didn’t have any residential plumbing, and very few factories for people to check tools out with. It was mainly a civil war fort town, federal court house for the Indian territory, and basically Wild West or they say Hell on the Border was Fort Smiths nickname
