found in a copper culture area ..what is it?

I came up with something like this many years ago in a 'First Nation' farm field-(behind a 300 yr + old oak tree)- I believe it's a 'cooper snot' -an ingot to be molded at a later time. Not native to the Finger Lake region of N.Y., I think it was passed hand to hand from your area to here , Huron to Mohawk to Seneca 200 + years ago

Lump of native (small n) copper. Often carried by Natives (large N) in the Historic Period as a religious item. That's a grey area so we'll just call it a lump of native copper. ;D
