I was MD'ing around a baseball park this morning. I found $1.20 in clad and this silver ring! Feels good to be "in the silver." Especially using my Bounty Hunter Fast Tracker that is pretty old. I am looking to upgrade my machine to a Garrett Ace 350. I was looking to spend between $200 - $350, anyone have any suggestions?

My main questions is the mark inside the ring. I see a "925139 TN" or "TH" inside. I have never seen that before and I was wondering if anyone knows what that all means. Thanks for your help!

welcome to tnet. very nice ring . I know the 925 means it is silver as far as the other #'s realy not sure. Silver has been slow in comming for me this year . nice to see it is still being found by someone . Rob.:hello2: welcome my friend .

Nice find. The 925 could be 92.5% silver, not sure 'bout the 139. As far as the ace, I had a 250 and really liked it. Skip the 350 and go with the AT Pro. I love mine, and it gives you the ease of use of the Ace series, but you can move up another level using the Pro settings. It would be over your target budget, but well worth the extra. Dig On!

nice find man! I using the 250 right now its an awesome upgrade from the bounty hunter plus youll get the pinppoint option on the 250. Theres not much worth spending the extra on a 350. id use the extras money to get a bigger coil for your 250. Ive found lots of awesome stuff with my 250. Good luck to ya, HH

Welcome to the hobby Jona and congrats on the nice ring :hello2:! My two cents, bigger coils are not the best option. Lately I have noticed a trend by many detector manufacturers to include what is a large coil as the stock one. I believe that pinpointing is harder with the bigger type coils leading to bigger holes dug sometimes. Generally these larger coils are less sensitive to coins on edge and smaller jewelry. Also they cannot get as "close" to playground equipment as smaller coils. And they generally are less able to separate trash from treasure. So here is my advice. Make sure the detector fits the type of hunting you plan on doing mainly and has a good pinpoint mode also. I would consider getting one that comes with a smaller type coil or just buying a small coil to use also. Wishing you much success! CARM

Congrats on the first... I would agree with most, that the 250 would be the way to go, if you can't get the AT Pro. I own both and have made some nice finds with them.

Thanks for all the feedback. I found about $10.75 in clad today total. The 350 has the DD search coil & and a higher frequency. Are those worth the extra $?
