Hey guys and gals! I'm finding color again! I'm visiting Murphys, CA until Tuesday. Panned ONE bucket of gravels to find the color you see here. From the Six Mile Creek in Vallecito, CA, Calaveras County. One of the "specks" is almost a picker. Not bad for one bucket of classified material. (hope the pics come out.... haven't done the Youtube thing in a while.....figured it out! Here is the gold! TTC

Terry, great to be hearing from you again. Tnet is less without you man!

Tnx much, Kevin. I miss the chatter in the gold forums but I am on my boat.... where I belong. Tnx again. Terry

Pics are not good. There are 4 small pieces, one of them ALMOST a picker. TTC

Cool! My husband's family had a homestead in Vallecito. Haven't prospected there though. The Moaning Caverns are a great place to go! If you come up higher in the hills we'll have to show you around.

What kind of boat do you have Terry? Went out sailing today but thinking about gold!

Hi Gilded! I am staying up the hill from Murphys. Up Penn Gulch Rd. At 3000 feet. I've been hanging here, off and on, since '07. Officially lived in Yarnel, AZ, near Stanton, but spent much time here. Great area.... great people. TTC

Murphys is beautiful, we need to go down their again, it's been to long. They need pasties though (at least I didn't see any last visit), I don't think I could move to a town that doesn't have pasties!

Hey Au! I own three sailboats, actually. A 16 foot Com-pac, Seaforth 24, and I live on the Prairie 32. There were only 35 Prairies made so it is a bit rare. I love it and will probably live on it till I die! TTC

Pasties.... is that the flour thing full of beef or pork? I haven't had one of those since a teenager, I think! TTC

Fair winds Terry! Another sailing miner! 35 ft. Chris Craft motorsailer S/V Kealoha

I've renewed my friendship with Russell and Pam at Stories In Stone and William Heath at the music store in Murphys, and must go see Mike C at the Vallecito post office. He was at Murph, but now at Val. TTC

Classic Cornish miners' lunch. Passed on to many other mining families of course. My family were miners in the copper mines of northern Michigan and we have a great pasties recipe ...yum! Serious comfort food with lots of ketchup :)

I have to look for some pics of the Prairie. I'll have them on here by tomorrow... if no one minds my going off-topic fer ya! TTC

20150322_130927.jpg need to add some gold fishing rod holders!

Here are pics of the prairie, including a pic of a rare event...... the Pride of Baltimore II and HMS Bounty, side by side in Milwaukee in '84 July fourth. Both have since sunk. Herb, back in Titusville, 70 yoa, crewed for 10 years on the Bounty! You will also see a Seal team attack board on the wall given to me by "Keith" (RIP). I have added the components. TTC
