The button is definitely a WWII button most likely from a Class A jacket. The rifle cartridge, judging by the back lip, looks like some caliber of 30-30. The very decorative item looks like a flattened/broken ring, but I can't be sure since I can't see the side of back views.

Flat but not broken ring. Going to see about getting it fixed. The top part also Is decorated and need to clean it up and get out my better camera in the am.

The ring appears to be a Navy or Marines "sweetheart" ring, based on the anchor I think I see on the front and eagle on the sides. These are most commonly from WWII, which suggests the button is as well, although its an Army button. The backmark on the button may help confirm whether it is from WWII, as the same pattern has been used since 1902.

well if the bullet casing goes with the other stuff --a 30 -06 was WW2 era -- and the head stamp would tell you more -- the great seal button is most likely WW2 era as is the military style "sweet heart" ring
