✅ SOLVED Found Chinese/Japanese? Track and Field Victory Medal 1927

Hello I am new to the forum but have been an avid reader for a few months. I recently found this old medal that says Victory on the front and shows a man in a track type pose. The back is written in Chinese/Japanese? and also says 1927. Any help in identifying this would be much appreciated! Thank you

Hi bdsawyer, welcome to the forum. I am sure an expert will come along shortly to help you ID this medal. The Asian writing on the reverse appears to be Korean to me, but I am no expert. Sorry I can't help you out. I know its not Mexican. They don't have any track and field medals. All the ones that can run, jump, or swim are in this country!

Here's a site with some Japanese medals that remind me of yours. I really have no idea of the language though - so I will give this thread a bump too and maybe someone with knowledge of that will post.

Thank you Bramblefind! I contacted the admin of that site and he quickly replied that this medal was given out by the Tokyo Dental College. Still not quite sure what it was for but I consider this one solved!
