Found Buddha pendant.

My brother found this while snorkling in the drought shallow waters of Lake Travis in Austin. It looks like a buddha and a jeweler has verified it is gold. The gold forms a triangle shaped cage around the wooden figure. It is approximately 1 inch tall.

Does anyone have an idea of what idol this might be? Or an age? The wood looks like it's been under water for a while.

The pendant is Thai. The holder is most likely 24K gold. I'd have it tested.

Think how well you could do there with a metal detector !

Good chance the buddha is from the orient, and they have a strong preference for 24kt gold there...
imagine that... they want the real thing !

From looking at the picture even, it seems to have the luster of Au that has not been alloyed.

All told, it's a nice little piece of jewelry.

The two Buddha pendants found are very cool
