Yesterday I hunted a park and found a 1903 Barber Dime. The odd thing about it is the date. It says "903" instead of "1903." If you look at the photo I attached, you can see the silver dime is in pretty decent shape. For example, you can see all the letters of LIBERTY. The "1" doesn't appear to have been worn off. It looks like it was never there and appears to be a mint error. Anybody have any idea what it is worth? I figure it could be worth more because of the error...or it could be worth less because of the error.

Here's a video I shot during the hunt.

I found the dime with my Minelab E-trac. It registered as 16-44 and was about 5-inches deep.

Whatever the worth, that is one sweet find!

Sweet Barber dime,I would say it is either a weak stamp or a die filled stamp (where the 1 in
the die was filled with grease or foreign matter)Good eye.
I believe you forgot the video :dontknow:

Thats awesome! You will never know what you will find out there! :) Congratulations on the barber!

Congrats on the Barber. I am still hunting for my first.

great find! I hunt in rain all the time, just wrap a baggie around my detector control box. I surely am not gonna melt!

Congratulations! Looks like a filled die, don't know how much it affects the value, but the scratches really hurt it. Be careful about rubbing the dirt off causing hairline scratches. Nice find.

Nice find, Dan. That one is a rare find in my book. WTG. Hope it will be a valueable coin for ya... Ron

Congratulations on that 1903 Barber Dime. Neat find.

Finding a Barber dime is great, but finding one with an error like yours makes it an AWESOME find! Congrats!

Thanks, l.cutler. Yeah, I notice the small scratches too. I won't make that mistake next time. I appreciate the advice.

Very nice find. Hope it turns out to be very valuable. If not, oh well, you've got something no one else has.
