Found at Red Fort in Spanish Fort, AL. Is it a CW button?

This button was found in the area of Red Fort on the CW Battle Field of Spanish Fort. It is brass and appears to be the top of a 2 piece button. It is small appoximately 0.5 ", similar to a cuff button. It has a diamond pattern that I am not familar with. Hoping it is a rare one, any help thanks. Tim
