found at old 18/19 cent farm site pendant?

we were at an old colonial foundation yesterday, my friend got this in area in next field adjacent cellar hole

had baked on clay,, two stones missing

maybe custom jewelry/ , appears to be bronze has black patina so maybe once plated

he's taking it to a jeweler tomorrow to see if they re glass

cant figure how the loop functioned as if it was on a chain it would hang down and not display stones

any ID or style related to age, much appreciated

This one is a similar style made of mother-of-pearl. 18th C.



I get the sense that yours is more like mid 20th.

Machine made, style, and the type of shank say 20th C to me. Could be as old as 1930's or 40's...

Search 'openwork paste coat buttons' and look at the pictures.

Not sure if it's a button or not, but the stones certainly looks like grandmothers "paste jewels".
