Found at an old home sight. What is it?

Found this at an old home sight. It is about 2.5" long, gold, looks like a small ink pen. Just like you would twist the pen to extend the point of pen, a small hook extends. The hook is not gold, but some type of metal. Can anyone help me with the ID of this item.
