It looks new, but what about the bells? Just wondering if anyone can determine if the bells are old. The big one has a nice ring to it. The two little ones are silent even though they have the pellet inside. Thanks for taking a look.

Those kind of bells are worn in Grizzly Bear country to ward off bears, but it apparently doesn't work all that well.

Montana Grizzly Bear Notice:

In light of the rising frequency of human/grizzly bear
conflicts, the Montana Department of Fish and Game
is advising hikers, hunters, and fishermen to take extra
precautions and keep alert for bears while in the field.
We advise that outdoorsmen wear noisy little bells on
their clothing so as not to startle the bears that aren't
expecting them. We also advise outdoorsmen to carry
pepper spray with them in case of an encounter with a
bear.

It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear
activity. Outdoorsmen should recognize the difference
between black bear and grizzly bear poop. Black bear poop
is smaller and contains a lot of berry seeds and squirrel fur.
Grizzly bear poop has little bells in it and smells like pepper
spray.

Lol you had me hooked until that last foot of "line."

On a more serious note: I don't think they're very old. We have a strand of them on one of our doors, to let us know if someone is coming in or out. I also found one of those bells at a tot lot with my EQ800, what it was doing there I don't have a clue. I think they are made in India or Pakistan.

They look like what folks would buy while over in SE Asia, or a shop that sells the handicrafts.
Not old as far as the bells go.
The beads might be glass if they're cool to the skin if neutral warmth then plastic.
Some might be semi precious stone, the blob looking blue/red one, but the market has made fakes for decades for the tourist markets.

Look like modern cheap Indian (not your Native, but from India) made bells.

Thanks pepperj. I had my eye on the red and blue myself. Think I will tie it to my backpack. See if I can attract a bear.
