Don't really know but could it be an early shovel looks like a handle would go into the slots on the end, or maybe a plow point, I'm sure someone else will know. I did like the beer can size comparison

Irt looks suspiciously close to a plate that goes on a steel electric fence post.

Definitely not a shovel, Doubt its anything to do with plowing, But ya never know. it has an edge like a knife. lol I knew everybody would know how big it is if i took a picture next to a beer can. Thanks HH

The shape of that looks familiar to me but I cant place it.I dont think its a shovel.I dont think that its 1600s either.To good of shape especially coming from farm land.Fertilizers do a number on metal objects.
