i had a pretty good morning today. i went out yesterday morning to the sneaky spot, but got skunked, so this morning i decided to go back to an old school that i have hunted before a while back. it was built in the 20s so i knew there had to be some silver hiding somewhere. i was right! i found this standing liberty right behind the football bleachers. the date is worn of of this one :'(, but im still happy to find it! in three years of hunting i never found one and now ive found 2 in the last month! i also found a sterling ring and three wheaties. id post a pic of the ring but i have no camera and it doesnt scan very well. i really thought this place would be hunted out by now but i guess i will have to return to this school a few more times and treat it a little more seriously. thanks for looking!

Excellent find. Yes its time you hit the books and go back to school. Keep us posted on the new finds there.

Congrats, Hollowpointred!!!! Those SLQ's are hard tough finds. I just found a no-date S mintmark yesterday also. I bet there are more silver in the area you found this coin. Just swing slow and listen to every signal in ground.

Were you using a different machine for those past 3 years when you didn't find an SLQ?

Way to go, Keith. Everyplace is "hunted-out" nowadays. But you showed your skill in finding a nice Stander in that hunted out place. See ya' later. I'm back to the Meadows this afternoon.

Sweet! I've never found one and I've been detecting for a long time.

I've also found with my huinting that when I find one, they start coming.

Seriously, I've even wished I've found a certain type coin, and always find that coin in a few days. Wierd I know. Come on gold coin.

Good job dude, keep at it.
Dig it- Ken

What makes it even cooler is you found it at a public school. That means many before you have missed it!

Great find!

thanks everyone! i think the reason it was still there is that it was on edge in a whole lot of trash. most other guys probably didnt want to be bothered with all of the junk in that spot ( i didnt want to deal with it either but i stuck with it anyway! ;D) most of the property looks like it has been graded except for a very small portion. it surprised the hell out of me!

i wish it was! it has the stars on the back . i figure it has to be between 1917 and 1924 since the date was raised but thats just a guess.

Sweet another great addition for you collection.
